The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) website is another important site for you to check – it has clear, useful information about visas.
Student visa route
Phase 1: Preparation
1. Recieve your CAS
Gather your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies from the university that you have received your unconditional offer.
Phase 2: Application
4. Submission
Complete the official UK government application online.
Phase 3: Finalisation
6. Biometrics
Attend your appointment at a Visa Application Centre to provide fingerprints and a photo.
Special note for EU/EEA students: You may be able to use the ’UK Immigration: ID Check’ app instead of a physical appointment.
2. English ability
Gather evidence of your English language ability.
5. Surcharge & fees
Pay the Immigration Health Surchage (IHS) fee to access the National Health Service (NHS).
7. Decision
Wait for your decision email and obtain your eVisa after it is approved.
3. Financial proof
Gather bank statements showing you can sustain living costs and tuition.
