Applying for undergraduate study through UCAS
The UK offers a very effective ‘one-stop-shop’ undergraduate online application service. This service is provided by Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), an independent charity and the UK's shared admissions service for higher education, which coordinates applications to full-time first degree, foundation degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), Diploma of Higher Education and Certificate of Higher Education courses offered by the universities and colleges.

All UK universities (except the Open University) and most colleges offering higher education are members of UCAS. Currently, more than 300 institutions are members of the scheme offering over 50,000 different programmes of study for which the recruitment of all home and many international students takes place through UCAS, irrespective of the intended year of entry of the student.
UK, EU and international students can file an UCAS application through a school, college, centre or as an individual.
International students who want to apply to one institution only, and who already meet the entrance requirements unconditionally of the institution concerned, can apply at any time in the annual cycle. They should contact UCAS or their intended university/college for advice first though as there is an alternative application form called the Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA), which requires specific authorisation from the institution concerned.
